Run scans in debug mode
Debug mode allows the Invicti Platform scanner to generate detailed logs during a scan. These logs include additional information about the scan’s progress, errors, and internal operations, which can help you troubleshoot issues or investigate specific behaviors during the scanning process.
When debug mode is enabled, the scanner works in debug mode and adds more detailed logs about the scan's progress and any errors encountered. If you need to analyze a scan in more depth, you can enable this option by setting it to Yes.
Debug logging is available if you need to troubleshoot the scanning done on a specific target.
This document describes when to use debug mode, how to enable it, and where the logs are stored.
When to use debug mode
- To troubleshoot unexpected errors during scanning.
- When requested by the Invicti Support team for investigation.
Steps to enable debug mode on a specific target
- Select Inventory > Targets from the left-side menu.
- Select the target for which you want to enable debug logging and enter edit mode.
- In the Advanced section, locate the option for Debug mode.
- Set the option to Yes to enable debug logging.
- Save the changes by pressing Save target configuration.
Once enabled, the scanner will log detailed information for that target during all scans.
Location and access to debug logs
Debug logs are securely stored internally in the cloud. Customers do not have direct access to these logs, nor can they download or view them themselves.
Access to debug logs is restricted to authorized Invicti support and engineering staff who handle escalations and troubleshooting. These logs are used solely for internal support purposes to help resolve issues effectively.
Support assistance
If you encounter issues or need help enabling debug mode, you can submit a ticket via the Invicti Help Center. Our support team can assist in enabling debug logging if necessary and will analyze the logs internally to assist with your case.
